Why root rot occurs in Casuarina and what are the measures to control it?

Root rot often occurs in Casuarina due to stagnant or excessive water which enters roots in Casuarina plantations. This results in the decay of the root cortex and paves way for root pathogens like Fusarium oxysporum. This fungal pathogen cause’s the root rot disease.  To effectively control this root rot; drain the excessive water in plantations and apply Trichodrema virde @ 20 ml or 20 g /tree or apply Bavistin fungicide @ 0.1 % (1g in 1000 ml of water).
